Our Monthly whisky range is…
Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky This single malt whisky defines our ‘house style’ being distilled in our unique copper pot still, matured in bourbon barrels, finished in rich Madeira wine casks and bottled at premium strength. The whisky is smooth, light in character and softly golden in colour. At premium strength (46% vol) Penderyn has an exceptionally balanced taste with an aroma of cream toffee and fleetingly of fresh new leather. Then, as the initial sensations fade, the finishing notes of tropical fruits, raisins and vanilla emerge strongly and are long lasting.
Drumguish – Scotland Weeist Distillery Drumguish is a five year single malt whisky produced at the Speyside Distillery. Drawing from the wonderful crystal clear waters of the River Tromie, The Speyside Distillery houses some of the smallest, yet most cleverly proportioned stills in Scotland. These two key factors, allied to our distilling secrets, that have been passed from generation to generation, have earned Speyside the reputation of 'the best whisky in the world'. The pure local water coloured and flavoured by the peat of the Cairngorm mountains, together with the fine malted barley from the Moray Firth region, and, of course, our unsurpassed attention to detail.
Pale mid amber in colour with old gold highlights. A soft and medium-sweet nose. Quite fresh with a slight menthol character, gently peated with a slight earthy touch.
The Macallan – 10 year old A 10 year old from the Macallan matured in sherry casks. Macallan uses only Golden Promise barley, and actually use up 90% of the annual crop of Golden Promise in Scotland ! The nose is quite light and clean. There are notes of rubbed petals and apple b lossom and hot pastries. Marmalade emerges with notes of sherried peels and barley sugars, vanilla fudge provides sweetness. The palate is of medium-body and well-rounded. There are notes of walnut and salty melted butter. Hints of fudge and crème anglaise. The finish is of medium-length and quite oaky.
A very pale, light brew with a complex hop aroma. The continental type palate is from the high proportion of Malted Wheat, which is used in addition to Malted Barley. Styrian Goldings hops are added, which give a fruity nose, with hints of watermelon and lychees.
